Together to the North Pole
  expedition by Janek Mela


"Together to the Pole" Expedition ~ On April 24, 2004 at 4:16 p.m., 15-year-old Janek Mela became the youngest disabled person ever to reach the North Pole. After a 70km walk that started April 4, Mela and the other explorers were led by Marek Kamiński to the Pole. Mela lost an arm and a leg in an electric shock incident two years ago. Kamiński came up with the idea for this expedition while Mela was still in hospital.
